Mt Olivet Cemetery
The Mount Olivet Cemetery, established in 1939, was deeded to members of the Mount Olivet Methodist Church on August 6, 1845. When the church closed its doors in 1961, the cemetery fell under disrepair. In May of 1990, the Board of Trustees of the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church sold the cemetery to the Town of Cohutta for a price of $10. Since that time, the Town of Cohutta has been responsible for maintenance and the sale of plots. Over the years, efforts have been made to improve the overall atmosphere of the cemetery by the town and by various civic groups. Set in a quiet corner of Cohutta, the cemetery provides a tranquil surrounding for your loved one's final resting place.
PLOTS are available for purchase for the interment of bodies and cremated remains in the 2010 Cohutta Addition section of the cemetery. See map for more information. For more information, email the Town Clerk.
